A Strawberry Birthday Bash
This past weekend, we celebrated Summer’s second birthday at Miyoshi Winery in Hiroshima.
Miyoshi Winery is known locally for its delicious wine, but it is also a popular place for families to visit due to its massive playground, appropriate for children of all ages.
With gorgeous weather this past weekend, the winery was overrun with families picnicking in the park, but luckily we were able to set up Summer’s party in a corner of the playground at no cost. We brought our own table, coolers with food and beverages, flowers, balloons, and other themed decorations, and shared party favors with Japanese families picnicking nearby.
Because this area is a popular place to come strawberry picking this time of year, I opted for a strawberry themed birthday party complete with strawberry lemonade, strawberry ice cream cones, strawberry shortcake cookies, strawberry flavored candies, and strawberry wine for the adults.
By the end of the party, Summer was an absolute mess! She had so much fun eating cupcakes, running around the playground, and playing with her friends!
It was a beautiful day to celebrate our sweet little girl.
